Syosset High School's Forensics Team

Syosset High School's Forensics team competed in the National Speech and Debate Association National Championships in Richmond, Virginia in June. The tournament saw 7000 entrants from over 2000 schools from every state, as well as U.S. territories and foreign countries. Those who advanced beyond the six preliminary rounds in the 16 public speaking events include: Savir Peri, Rachel Zhang, Robert Liu Meng, Jiayi Meng, Alison Lin and Arvin Huang. Sudents who moved on to quarterfinal and semifinal rounds include: Anabella Pisapia Demarco in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Max Goldstein in Impromptu and Expository, Norman Li and Abigail Ho in Congressional Debate. Saisha Puri placed 6th out of 200 in World Schools Debate and Ella D’Auria gained distinction in Original Oratory, Impromptu and placed 4th in Expository Speaking out of 500 competitors. The team's success continues Syosset Forensics’ long history of showcasing our school district’s reputation for excellence on the state and national stage.
